I want to take this opportunity to publicly THANK each of you for the GREAT Contributions you made in pulling this 2006 Spring tour together. What a great team effort you’ve made! Your success reflects favorably on the whole neighborhood! What a privilege to be a part of this process!

Rosie Miller – came to many Regular planning committee meetings, started the Advertising Committee, worked on our Invitation design – computer graphics, printed some of the Invitations, encouraged some of the Home Tour participants to display their homes, Coordinated Invitation/Ticket Form distribution in downtown Dayton, Collected Mailing Lists, received support from LOTS of important contacts, had a great knowledge base of living in the neighborhood for years, a zillion ideas! – major support to Tour Coordinator, produced the Day OF Ticket design and printing, pulled the Brochure/Program design together and got it printed for FREE, loaned us tables and chairs, platters and pitcher, Displayed her home & garden on the Tour; and was an over all GREAT Helper! An Invaluable Source! Couldn’t have done it without her! (I’m sure I have not mentioned many of the things she contributed!) THANK YOU Rosie for the skills and expertise you shared through this whole process. Is there anything you can’t do? Your hard work and dedication are appreciated more than words can express. And you did all this while pulling your home and garden together to be on the Tour!
Courtney Robbins – made signs, designed posters, made up the Think TV posters, etc., Advertising Committee, worked on Carriage Rides and gathered the supplies and then helped decorate the Carriage with lace and flowers-- the DAY OF, worked on getting Banners and professional signs made, assisted w/ bulk mailing, poster distribution, getting vendors lined up for displays, Invitation distribution, made posters for the Market distribution w/ Invitations, handed out Invitations at the Market and at Urban Nights, made candles for the Gift Baskets, and then assembled them for the Public TV Auction sale, loaned us tables and platters, etc; worked in the Dessert House Days of the Tour, overall GREAT Helper! (I’m sure I have not mentioned many of the things she contributed!) Courtney, we really appreciated the many hours and productive energy you contributed to pulling this Tour off on time and in good shape!
Paula Worman – attended several planning meetings, took care of the Treasurer’s tasks concerning the Spring Tour – big job!, assisted with the Bake Sessions, poster distribution, chaired the garden committee with Shirley Watson – working the neighborhood garden areas, helped w/candy making, pretzel dipping, much baking, decorating the desserts, handed out Invitations at the Market; helped decorate the Carriage the Day OF, provided coffee and tea and assisted the Senior Center group at Huffman Place Day OF, worked in the Dessert House the Days OF - was an over all GREAT Helper – Johnny on the spot! (I’m sure I have not mentioned many of the things she contributed!) Paula, the gift of time is priceless. Lee Watson – attended the 1st Planning Committee and many after giving his support as President of HHNA; invited some neighbors to be on Tour; an-up Committee, Neighborhood Clean-up, Sold tickets and ran the Ticket House the day of Tour; A big job and here’s a BIG THANK YOU!
Shirley Watson - attended the 1st Planning Committee and many after offering valuable insights, let us use her house for our neighborhood Spa/ Morale party, let us use her kitchen for our Baking Sessions, made phone calls to Senior Centers, assisted with Bulk Mailing assembly, assisted with our neighborhood cleaning when few others could assist, chaired the garden committee with Paula Worman; donated flowers for the Dessert House for Day OF, Opened her home/garden for the Ticket House, assisting Lee with the 400 guests who showed up at their door! Had her front porch painted and prepared - available for our guests to eat their box lunches or desserts while Touring our neighborhood, A very hospitable gesture, and here’s a BIG THANK YOU! Mike Osgood – attended the 1st Planning Committee, Fund Raising Chair – awesome donor base - $3,500, with the $2,500 (included) from WPCU, gave support from your great knowledge base of so many areas of living in the neighborhood for so many years; supporting his wife as she supported the Tour Coordinator and the team; Pulled Ads in for brochure/Program; Dayton Daily News interview w/ Cookie Johnson with Bob Batz of DDN; Displayed your 1884 opulent home on the Tour and offered your next-door-apartment for the Dessert house; He contributed all this while doing major renovation work on his home in preparation for the Tour; He shared a most precious asset and we are grateful! Gregg Miller – Displayed his home & garden on the Tour; He did a four-year renovation in a few months, taking an old run-down home and turning it into a hip, well constructed loft-type home. It was a Herculean effort; “He started to sing as he tackled the thing, That couldn’t be done, and he did it! and here’s a BIG THANK YOU!

Joanie Spain – Attended Regular meetings, Advertising Committee meetings, worked on the Invitation/Ticket form, called on Senior Centers, made Media Contacts for Press Releases and sent them out at the appropriate times, met w/ Tour Chair in an Advertising meeting w/ Impact Weekly, handed posters out, assisted in Invitation distribution, handed out Invitations at the Market; assisted in Prep work Day OF, assisted John in putting up the Tent for Container Gardening, worked in RedTop Day OF, Displayed their home on the Tour, even after holding down 2 jobs at work! Here’s a BIG THANK YOU! (I’m sure I have not mentioned many of the things she contributed!) Joanie, your positive, cheerful performance was an inspiration to us all.
John Spain – helped post our home-made plywood signs on streets; assisted in Prep work Day OF, Displayed their home on the Tour after working hard in preparation. Thanks for holding down the fort while Joanie worked RedTop! Many, many THANKS!

Dan Barton – RedTop - Displayed his major renovations of his Office building on the Tour and let us use the facility for several activities the DAY OF, Getting the Building to its present condition was a big job and here’s a BIG THANK YOU! Plus he had his restrooms available to the public, helped set up the power point Huffman presentation in his building, loaned us his hot water container for refreshments at RedTop, etc. Thanks a million! You shared a precious asset and we are grateful!

I hope that each of you who opened your homes to the public received lots of kudos from our guests as they toured your homes, (everyone I talked to told me you were all very friendly and helpful!) and now here’s hoping you are reaping the rewards of all the hard work you put into preparing your home to be on display!! Each of you put in many hours of hard labor, and we as a neighborhood appreciate it from many angels. It benefits all your neighbors as the neighborhood shines; contributing to our pride, while reinforcing the decision we made to be a part of the neighborhood. So we really cannot THANK YOU enough for the work you went through to be on the Tour!

Gale Heller – set up and maintained spread sheets for tracking tickets, & volunteers; came to our FIRST planning meeting & attending most of the other planning committee meetings; lots of great ideas, invited some neighbors to be on Tour; followed up on action items from committee meetings; our phone contact person fielding incoming calls from the public, Confirmations to ticket holders and sorted tickets into envelopes.
