Part Four: The Road Ahead

The residents of the Huffman Historic Area have known for some time that restoring a neighborhood takes much more than just a few coats of new paint or replacing a dilapidated plumbing system.

It also requires the long and very personal process of building bonds between neighbors and friends, bonds that create a community where everyone knows each other and lends a helping hand.

Neighbors welcome each other during the holidays.

Victorian Living with all the excitement of being close to Downtown -- and the security and friendship of a close-knit community.

If that's the kind of neighborhood you're looking for, then take another look at the Huffman Historic Area. Housing prices in Huffman are still among the most affordable in the Dayton area.

You'll also find homes in nearly every stage of restoration -- everything from completely finished homes that blend Victorian charm with modern convenience to homes that are literally only a shell of their former selves (only for the adventurous!).

In Huffman, you'll find good neighbors and friends. You'll find a place that feels just like home.

A Neighborhood That Feels Like Home

We hope you've enjoyed this brief introduction to our neighborhood's history. If you'd like more detail, we invite you to view the documentation we prepared when registering with the National Register of Historic Places.
